The principal of Tala Satelitte secondary school Faith Mwanthi has asked the Constituency Development Fund committees to be issuing out bursaries to students in private schools as well.

Speaking at the school, Mwanthi argued that some of the students in private schools do not come from rich families hence they should not be discriminated against simply because they are in private schools.

‘Some of our students have financial challenges and we have been encouraging them to apply for CDF bursaries although they haven’t been receiving the required support. Some of them were enrolled in our school because they have special needs that can only be accommodated by us,’ she said.

She argued that all children belong to the government and that they should all be treated equally.

She added that her school had registered 40 candidates for this year’s national exams and that they are well prepared to sit for the final exam in March.
