President William Ruto has asked the youth to embrace technical and Information Computer Technology (ICT) courses that will equip them with appropriate technical skills.
He said that technical education and computer science will enable learners to have a real world experiences as science has converted the world into a global village.
“In the modern world of evolving landscape of education, careers in technical education have taken the forefront of development,” he said.
The President was addressing teachers, parents and students of Belgut Technical Training Institute in Kericho County.

The President added that the Government is investing in the youth empowerment through trainings in market driven and technological initiatives that will enable them to earn decent salaries.
The president commissioned the institute and Belgut Jitume Hub.

Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu praised the president for making education accessible to majority of children by supporting free education.
He said that his Ministry encourages Technical education to students who never scored enough marks to enable them gain entry into University without compromising academics.
The CS said that education system in the country prioritizes and integrates technology in its policies in order to reach the goals of Vision 2030.
