President Ruto orders relocation of Kenya Prisons to pave way for expansion of Tom Mboya Varsity

President William Ruto has ordered the relocation of the Homa Bay Prison to pave the way for the expansion of Tom Mboya University.

The Head of State stated that the prison will now be relocated to Lambwe Valley, which he noted is equally expansive.

President Ruto announced during the Blue Economy conference in Homa Bay today.

He directed Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba and his Internal Security counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen to work on the modalities.

President Ruto clarified that the prison is being relocated to Lambwe Valley, not because it is tsetse-infested, but because it has large tracts of land.

During the event, the President officially opened a Kenya Commercial Bank branch at the Tom Mboya University campus.
