President William Ruto has pledged his commitment to engage with the Gen Z on X Space on Thursday and Friday this week.

The President spoke during a joint media interview with digital writers on Sunday at State House.

The Head of State indicated his readiness to utilize their preferred social media platforms, including facilitating discussions on X within the Space forum.

Yesterday night, the President also held another interview with top editors of television stations.

This follows recent youth-led protests related to the passage of the Finance Bill 2024 and concerns about governance.

“I am ready to speak to the youth,” he said asking the lead organizers to send an invite as soon as possible.

The president, demonstrating a firm commitment to address youth concerns, promised to engage with them on a regular basis—either monthly or bi-monthly—provided that the Space forum organizers send invitations in advance.

President Ruto, visibly concerned, recognized a gap between his administration and the youth and pledged to address this issue.

“Communication and messaging has been one area that my administration has not been successful on but I promise that will change,” he said.

Despite the informal nature of the Space forum, where participants can freely express themselves—even using offensive language—President Ruto remained undaunted, affirming, “I am willing to listen to them.”
