In a Gazette Notice issued on April 10, President Ruto announced the constitution of a selection panel tasked with nominating candidates to fill the positions. The panel will be chaired by Ambassador Isaac Njenga.
Other members appointed to the panel include Evelyn Owoko, James Nduna, Dr. Jacob Mbijjiwe, CPA Margaret Nyakoboke Ogega, Wycliffe Etole Omucheyi, Dr. Mercy Igoki Samuel, Rose Okaya Eteye, and Dr. Margaret Lesuuda.
The appointments are part of succession management measures designed to ensure seamless transition within the Commission, whose members were initially appointed in staggered batches to avoid simultaneous expiry of terms.
The selection panel is expected to begin its work immediately, overseeing the process of identifying suitable nominees to join the Commission as it continues to oversee teacher management and uphold professional standards in the education sector.
