President William Ruto has today officially inaugurated the Malava Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Kakamega County, marking a major milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare training across the country.
During the launch, President Ruto announced that Ksh 90 million from the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) will be used to complete the project.
He further pledged Ksh 110 million for the construction of Phase One of the Malava KMTC hostels, part of the Ksh 3 billion allocated through the Affordable Housing Programme for learning institutions across Kakamega County.

The Head of State also committed Ksh 5 million toward the purchase of a new bus for the college, noting that the facility will play a vital role in expanding the country’s health workforce.
“This institution will not only create more opportunities for our youth but also ensure Kenya has a stronger and more resilient healthcare system,” President Ruto said.
Local leaders and residents welcomed the development, describing it as a transformative investment in education and healthcare for the region.
