Poor parenting to blame for rising school dropouts

By Florence Norah

Migori Deputy County Commissioner Joseph Satia has blamed cases of school dropouts on poor parental skills.

He said that parents have forgotten their responsibilities of guiding their children leaving them to seek counsel from all manner of sources.

“Children are exposed to social media where they get all bad influence leading to some dropping out of school,” he said.

He urged parents to be close to their children saying this will address many challenges affecting the youth today.
