Police in Mai Mahiu pursue gang that killed guard at a local school

The police in Mai Mahiu are tracking down a gang the stabbed a watchman to death at a local school.

Police in Mai Mahiu have launched a manhunt for a gang which raided a school in the area, killing a night guard in the process and making away with foodstuff.

The slain night guard referred to as Boaz Oromo is said to have succumbed to injuries on arrival at Oakland Hospital in the area as per the police report, who confirmed his death.

The gang is said to have raided the school where Oromo was working on Sunday morning and tied him up in a store after stabbing him three times in the head before proceeding to the school store, where they are reported to have stolen three bags of rice and sugar.

Similarly, the thugs raided a teacher’s house and stole a laptop and mobile phone.

The area police officers said the gang escaped soon after the incident, leaving the bleeding guard for dead.

The body of the deceased is at the local mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures as the family plans for burial.

A team of detectives has since visited the scene and processed it as part of the probe into the murder.

No arrest has been made but police said they are pursuing good leads on the attackers.
