Pioneer students enroll for ICT training at Nkabune TTI

Nkabune

Over 100 pioneer students from Nkabune Technical Training Institute have enrolled for ICT training so as to acquire basic digital skills and earn an income while studying.

Their decision follows the move by the ministry of Information, Communication and Technology to launch a digital economy enablement programme to provide youth with access to digital skills and opportunities.

The institute’s principal Eunice Njenga said the programme will enable students to acquire basic digital skills that will increase their productivity and ensure they earn as they study.

She appealed to form four leavers to join the institution in order to benefit from the program before they decide on a course to pursue.

“We have a career office at the institution. Form four leavers can visit us for guidance on marketable courses in today’s job market,” said Njenga.

The principal urged the youth to take advantage of the facility and change their mindset  since most bank on securing scarce white collar jobs instead of pursuing technical courses.
