Pastor Ezekiel Odero, the founder of New Life International Church, has provided full scholarships to 200 secondary school students in Kilifi.
Speaking before the Shakahola Senator Committee, chaired by Senator Dunstan Mungatana, Pastor Odero confessed to lacking formal theological training but fervently supported the cause of clerical education.
He fondly recounted his own childhood, where he attended Ngodhe Primary School on the Island, with his grandfather covering the initial two years of his education.
“An NGO later stepped in to sponsor my education at Miwani Secondary School in Chemelil, Kisumu, before I pursued further studies at the Technical University of Kenya,” the Pastor stated.
He passionately advocated for children’s right to education, sharing the heart-wrenching experience of witnessing two boys at the Governor’s office who had walked long distances to seek assistance.
