Nyaribari Masaba Member of Parliament, Ezekiel Machogu, has said that his passion for education compels him to give it more priority in his Constituency.

The legislator expressed his confidence that the constituency’s education progress will remain in safe hands when he leaves as he has embarked on the Kisii County gubernatorial race.

Machogu was speaking at Chironge Girls’ Secondary School when he launched a 480 capacity dormitory and a school bus at the institution.

“Proper accommodation will shelter the Girls and provide security to enable them concentrate well in their studies,” he said.

The MP who was flanked by Kisii County Deputy Governor, Dr. Joash Maangi, said that the two projects costed Sh20 million that was channeled from the NG-CDF kitty.

Machogu asked the School Management Committee to only use the bus for school purposes like academic tours and sports.

H took the chance to inform the public that his constituency was voted number one in Nyanza and number seventh countrywide and has attracted the head of state’s commendation.

“The president has commended us in the good development record but we still aspire to better our best,” he added.

He promised to use his experience in the public administration and politics to transform Kisii County into a hub of economic excellence if he will be elected the Kisii County Governor in the coming elections.

The DG Maangi who has declared his interest in the County’s Senatorial seat said he will pair up with Machogu to support development in education.

Maangi said Machogu pioneered the Rural Focus Develoment model when it was being adapted in the country about 40 years ago when he was a District Commissioner.

Since then, he narrated that the development  model has been transformed into devolved governments and finally the UDA party borrowed from it to coin their campaign blue print called the bottom up theory of development.

Maangi asked the public to vote for DP William Ruto for President  because he is the midwife of the bottom up development call.

“If you want to achieve the Big Four Agenda that was started by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, support the bottom  up model of development as advocated by the UDA party,” appealed Maangi.

He appealed for peace to prevail during the August 9 general elections.
