The Member of Kisii County Assembly said that his office will give priority to students who pursue the named careers during the distribution of Education Bursary Fund  from his office.

He was speaking at the home of the late Dr. Joel Omagwa Makanga at  Kenyenya Nursing and Maternity Home.

He praised the late Makanga for rising from a simple nurse to a doctor who founded his own hospital in Kenyenya town.

“This man we are mourning today was a man who defied mediocrity to soar to greater heights of his career,” he said.

The late Makanga died at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital after a short illness.

He leaves behind a widow, who is a medic, and grown up children.
