Ndia MP George Kariuki has told parents to enroll their children into the Ndia Vocational Institute instead of leaving them to their own devices in boda boda business.
Speaking while issuing bursary cheques in Kianjang’a, Kariuki urged parents to take their children to the institution as fees will be paid by the NGCDF.
“You should not engage your children in boda boda business; not that I am against it but when a child who has just cleared fourth form gets into the business, there future is cut and doomed. Let them get further their education,” the MP added.
He said that no learner that wants to get skills will be locked out, pointing out that many young people have been able to complete their studies even at the university courtesy of the NGCDF.
“We are not going to lock anyone out due to lack of school fees. Parents kindly enroll your children in Ndia Institute so that they can acquire skills,” he said.
The MP added that enrolling them for skills will engage them and keep them from indulging in drug and substance use.
