It was a sigh of relief for hundreds of parents after Shinyalu MP Fred Ikana donated geometric sets to the over 7,000 candidates in the constituency who are preparing to sit KCPE examinations.
In about a week’s time, the candidates will tackle the national examination.
Now parents can focus on other pressing issues as the MP also bought foodstuff for the candidates.
“All the more than 7,000 learners will receive the Oxford geometric sets which they will use even in secondary school. This is one of the ways to help our parents who are struggling to put food on the table,” the MP said.

Ikana released the items at Solyo Primary School when he also launched the construction of an 8-classroom storey block, bringing the number of such projects to six in the past one year.
The others include Shitochi, Munasio, Ivakale, Ileho and Mukulusu primary schools.
