An educationist has lauded the parents for integral role towards realising education in Koroto Zone, Baringo County.
Koroto Zone Curriculum Support Officer (CSO) Daniel Koiluk speaking during Kipcherere Day Secondary Prize Giving Day noted that firm foundation from stakeholders also has put the zone in top in position Baringo North.
Koiluk told Education News that the area has been peaceful despite insecurity concerns from bordering sub counties.
He said Government efforts to revert the trend have allowed the students in the area continue with their education.
The CSO however noted that cases of early marriages and retrogressive vices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) have stopped because of measures put in place by the authorities.
Koiluk added that Government will not relent on the fight against past cultural practices in the area which in the past greatly affected their education.
The educationist challenged other schools to focus seriously to allow them achieve good results.
.County Director of Education Willie Machocho praised efforts put in place by the government to realize education in areas affected by insecurity.
