Parents in Bungoma urged to pay school fees on time

Parents and guardians at St. Joseph Nalondo Boys High School in Bungoma county have been asked to pay school fees on time.

Speaking during the school Annual General Meeting on Thursday, school Principal Moses Juma said that paying fees on time will enable the school administration to effectively run operations and in turn produce impressive national examination results.

“Sending students home for school fees give limits their grasp of content before sitting for exam,” he said.

According to Juma, parents owe the school an estimated Ksh1.4 million in school arrears.

The Principal noted that the school was aiming for better performance in this year’s national exams and called for co-operation from parents and the community.

He lauded teachers and the Board of Management (BoM) who vowed to steer the school to the next academic and co-curricular level.

BoM Chair Onesmus Makhanu echoed his sentiments and underscored the need for parents to invest in education.

He called on the Ministry of Education to hire more teachers to the school to curb the shortage of teachers that has plagued the school.
