Parents at Alomodoi Primary School in Teso South, Busia County are demanding for immediate transfer of the head teacher, Patrick Omanyo Opilit.
The irate parents stormed the school and closed the gate, locking out teachers and pupils singing, ‘Omanyo must go….he must go… he must go’. They are accusing him of failing in his administrative duties.
“Teachers here are excessively engaged in alcoholism and female teachers are always out on maternity leave. The teachers led by the head teacher have greatly contributed to poor performance of the school. They are always in the village taking alcohol at the time they are supposed to be in class teaching,” lamented a parent.
