Former Kisii MCA Samson Mogusu said parents are very important in shaping the future of their children because they instill in them moral teachings that provide them a healthy social growth.

Mogusu, a pastor, was addressing parents, teachers and pupils of Good News Academy in Sameta, Kisii County, when they graduated their pupils to the next grades.

He told parents to fulfill their parental obligations by providing food, clothing and safe homes for their children in order to induce and motivate their innate potential for education and knowledge growth.

“A child who is brought up in a loving and secure environment develops a natural desire for success and grows quickly in it like a plant on a fertile ground,” he said.

The MCA donated Ksh50,000 to be used for buying study materials for to the Junior Secondary School (JSS) learners in the institution.

He praised the proprietor Joshua Bosire for building the school from only 8 pupils at inception to over 400 now.

Bosire gave the history of the humble beginnings of the institution and attributed its success to the confidence placed on them by parents.

He assured parents of quality education and security of their children while they are in school.

During the colorful ceremony that mainly focused on Grades 1 and 2 transition into the next grades, 30 pupils graduated to grade two and 28 went to Grade 3.
