Vihiga County Commissioner Felix Watakila has asked parents to stop discrimination of their children when it comes to education.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of Nancy Namaeso, the former teacher at Mukhuyu Primary School in Webuye, Watakila said is ungodly to discriminate your children basing on gender.
“Parents stop discriminating your children, offer them education without basing on gender,” said Watakila.
He further warned parents who are font of drinking alcohol yet their children are at home for lack of school fees.

Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has scheduled a meeting to discuss the fate of teachers who were sacked after involvement in Junior Secondary School (JSS) strike.
Making his remarks at the same function, the union second Vice Chairman Aggrey Namisi said three JSS teachers who were sacked were from Bungoma County.
He further accused their counterpart union Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) to be behind the woes surrounding the JSS teachers.
Faith Nelima who is KUPPET treasurer lauded the national government for allocating more money for recruitment of JSS teachers.
She also pleaded with Teachers Service Commission not to sack the JSS teachers who were involved in the recent strike.
