Over 69,000 candidates kick off KJSEA and KPSEA exams successfully in Lamu and Malindi

In Malindi Sub-county, a total of 25,631 candidates are participating in the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations across 78 centres.

According to Sub-county Director of Education Rashid Roba Aden, the first day of the exercise proceeded without any disruption. Examination materials were dispatched to all centres on time, and all exam managers and invigilators reported as required.

Aden also supervised the distribution of Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) papers to 62 centres, serving an additional 36,000 candidates within the sub-county. He commended school heads and centre managers for their coordination and strict adherence to examination guidelines.

In Lamu County, 7,930 candidates began their national assessments earlier today, joining thousands of others across the country.

Of these, 4,432 are registered with KJSEA, while 3,498 are registered with KPSEA. County Director of Education Zachary Mutuiri said the exercise began on time at all centres and that no incidents had been reported.

He noted that one candidate is taking the examination at the King Fahad Health Facility after breaking his leg, while another is writing the paper under police custody after being apprehended for being involved in fights with other students while armed with a knife, both having received special arrangements to ensure they are not left behind.

Meanwhile, Lamu Central Deputy County Commissioner Taruz Kipkorir assured parents and the public that adequate security measures have been put in place to guarantee the safety of all candidates and examination officials. He said security teams are on high alert throughout the examination period to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted process.
