The Commissioner thanked the Government for coming up with the programme which, he said, enhances welfare of girl- child.
The project is an initiative of the County Woman Representatives Association.
Dr Kasalu said Kitui was the first county to receive the sanitary pads in the country.
She said that the county was given a total of 2,224,520 sanitary towels, which will benefit a total of 555,133 girls for four months.
