More than 50 schools in Nakuru County have already benefited from the Teachers Service Commission’s (TSC) online livestreaming of lessons, according to County Director Geoffrey Chemos. The program, which has been hailed as transformative, is enhancing access to quality education, improving learner performance, and fostering collaboration among schools.
Speaking from his office in Nakuru City, Chemos explained that both comprehensive and secondary schools in remote sub-counties such as Kuresoi South, Kuresoi North, Subukia, Gilgil, Rongai, Njoro, and others have greatly benefited. Thousands of learners in these areas now access real-time lessons across multiple subjects through digital platforms.

Chemos emphasized that the initiative is bridging instructional gaps caused by teacher shortages, enabling learners to interact with qualified teachers remotely. He noted that the program has boosted syllabus coverage, enhanced ICT capacity among learners and teachers, and increased engagement in classrooms.
“The online livestreaming of lessons has given thousands of learners in remote areas the chance to attend classes consistently and improve their educational standards,” Chemos said, adding that the program enjoys strong support from parents, teachers, and learners due to its positive impact.
The County Director urged heads of comprehensive and senior schools to adopt the livestreaming platform, stressing that it would help learners in understaffed institutions access lessons in all subjects and compete effectively with peers from other schools.
Chemos further highlighted that the initiative is part of TSC’s broader commitment to equitable access to education through technology.
