Over 25,000 candidates begin maiden final primary exam in Makueni

25,152 candidates spread across 975 centres have begun their KPSEA examinations this morning in Makueni county.

The 11,969 girls and 13,183 boys are in 109 private and 866 public schools.

Speaking during the opening of the examination container, Makueni Sub County Director of Education (SCDE) Yophes Magara said they had two containers, one in Wote DCC and the other one in Kaiti ACC with 63 and 56 centers respectively, totaling 119 centres.

The Director said that the sub-county registered 1,865 girls and 1,272 boys, amounting to a candidature of 3,137 candidates.

Magara called for strict time adherence and assured of readiness for any major challenge.

“We pray for good health of our candidates and those supervising them. Kindly give them all the necessary support they need,” he said.

Wote DCC Rashid Kwanya said that they do not expect any reports of exam malpractice, adding that enough security officers have been deployed to ensure security of the papers.
