Eseme described chess as a game with immense benefits for students—not only in terms of discipline but also in improving academic performance and increasing chances of receiving educational scholarships.

He revealed that participants were not limited to Trans-Nzoia; students from neighboring counties like Kakamega and Bungoma also took part.

According to Eseme, the recent Mombasa tournament served as a major motivation for students after interacting with peers from various regions.

He applauded the national chess federation for supporting several players with travel expenses and securing scholarships for some students.
