Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kameme Kasimbi, in collaboration with Computers for Schools Kenya, has successfully trained over 100 youths from Kangundo who sat for their KCSE exams last year in various computer packages.
During the graduation ceremony held on Tuesday, January 14, Kasimbi encouraged the students to apply their newly acquired skills to create opportunities for self-employment and personal growth.
“With the skills you’ve gained, you can confidently seek employment or even run your own businesses,” she said, emphasizing the importance of self-reliance.

She also urged the graduates to harness their talents, noting that traditional white-collar jobs are increasingly scarce.
“The reality is that white-collar jobs are no longer guaranteed. The skills you’ve acquired today, if put to good use, can help you shape your future,” Kasimbi added.
In addition, the woman representative encouraged the youths to form groups to access funding from the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).
She explained that such funds could enable them to initiate projects and improve their financial standing.
This initiative is part of Kasimbi’s broader efforts to empower youth in Machakos by equipping them with practical skills to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential.
