Nyatike MP urges govt to protect 2020 grade 4 and KCPE candidates

Nyatike Member of Parliament (MP) Tom Odege has called on the national government through the Ministry of Education to put in place policy for grade four and 2020 KCPE candidates to be kept busy in their learning institutions.

The Legislator noted that keeping the learners home and away from schools might result to negative implications in their academics.

Odege has called on Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha to consider the implications that may arise if the current calendar which states that the competency based curriculum grade four candidates will remain at home till the month of July is followed without coming up with any other constructive policy that can keep them engaged in schools.

“I urge the education CS to reconsider the calendar since it would not be much easy for parents to take care of the 2021 form one students for such a long holiday”, said Odege.

He called on the government to consider the fact that the ten months holiday affected the lives of many especially girls and therefore giving another long holiday for the grade four and 2020 KCSE candidates might waste their lives.
