Nyanza KSSSA sports timetable finally released as action kicks off this morning

Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Nyanza Region has released the official programme for Rugby and Hockey fixtures set to start at various designated schools, including St Pius Uriri and Rapogi High Schools.

According to Nyanza Regional KSSSA Secretary Tom Odhiambo, the Rugby 15s tournament is divided into two pools: Pool A and Pool B.

In Pool A, Kisii School from Kisii County will face off against St. Paul’s Gekano from Nyamira, Nyabondo from Homa Bay County, and Rapogi High School from the hosting Migori County.

Pool B consists of Ajengo from Migori County, Agoro Sare from Homa Bay, St. Mary’s Yala from Siaya, and Nyabondo from Kisumu. Cardinal Otunga Mosocho from Kisii County will also compete in this category.

For Boys’ Hockey, Pool A features Agoro Sare, Nyanchwa Boys, Ekenyoro Technical, and Migori. Pool B includes Rapogi, Sawagongo, Onjiko, and Ringa Boys. In the Girls’ Hockey category, Group A teams are Kadika, Nyakach, Ng’iya, and Nyamira, while Group B consists of Asumbi, Katolo, and Tuk Jowi.

Additionally, Hockey Boys will assemble into two more groups. Group A features Kanga, Ringa, and Maseno, while Group B will see Cardinal Otunga Mosocho, Pe Hill, Chanda, and Motta competing. For Girls’ Hockey, Group A comprises Anjego, Amaiko, and Huma, while Group B hosts Nyamira Geke, Ogande, and Agenge.

The Secretary called for high discipline from players and cautioned fans against interfering with matches, urging them to treat the games with the respect they deserve.

Migori County Director of Education Jacob Onyiego assured teams coming from outside the county of adequate security, accommodation, and food.
