Nyansiongo Boys meets Form Four parents in bid to secure their full support for 500 KCSE candidates

Mark Osoro, Principal of Nyansiongo Boys' High School.

Nyansiongo Boys School in Borabu Constituency held its Form Four class conference to strategise on this year’s good KCSE examination performance.

The Principal of the School, Mark Osoro, advised parents to avoid stressing their children at home over minor household misunderstandings that may have a psychological impact and affect their good examination performance.

“The way you treat your children from the moment you release them to us is reflected during their stay here,” he said.

The principal asked them to show parental love to their children by providing them with well-fitting uniforms to match their rapid body growth and protect them from feeling shy by wearing small and torn clothes.

He asked parents to buy essential examination tools, such as geometric sets and Mathematical tables, early to avoid a late rush, which may lead candidates to panic and write incorrect answers during the examinations.

The Principal stated that in the 2024 KCSE examinations, the school presented 395 candidates, of whom 384 attained a grade of C+ and above, securing direct entry to various Universities in the country.

The Principal was flanked by the school’s Parents’ Teachers Association (PTA) Chair, Isaac Ouko, who attributed the good performance to discipline and cooperation among all stakeholders.

“We cooperated amongst ourselves as each of us did their part and hope to use the same blade to post good results this year,” he said.

Regarding the payment of school fees, he assured parents that his executive committee had agreed with the principal to meet with individual parents and plan how the problem could be solved smoothly without the need to send candidates home due to non-payment of school fees.

He asked any parents with firewood, maize, or a hen to bring it to school and use it as payment for school fees, and assured them that the principal would not send them away.

Stating that the school had registered 500 students for the KCSE examination, the chairman expressed optimism about their good results, as they had received sufficient teaching, guidance, and counselling from the teachers and Fr. Lawrence Mandere, the Priest in charge of Nyansiongo Parish.

He asked all students to remain disciplined, focused, and reverent to God, for if they want to succeed in life.
