A form two student from Nyansabakwa Secondary School is admitted at Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital after he was allegedly hurt by his teacher.

Mr. Geoffrey Morara, his father said he received a phone call from the teacher last month to report to school.

“The teacher called and explained to me on phone that my son was involved in the theft of a slasher, a school property,” he said.

The parent narrated how he agreed with the teacher to sort out the matter at school with the help of his colleagues. When the son reported home for the short mid term breaking, the parent noted that his son walked with some difficult. That was when he inquired from his son who revealed how the teacher had kicked him on his private area as he interrogated him about the lost tool.

“I took the lad to hospital where he is now recovering after undergoing a minor surgery,” he revealed.

When this reporter visited the hospital, the boy sat quietly on the bed as his younger sister peeled an orange for him to eat.

Efforts by Education News to reach the Principal of Nyansabakwa secondary school did not yield fruits; his secretary received the phone call but said that he was not authorized to comment anything about such matters that he termed administrative.

Nyamira County Director of Education Mrs. Margaret Mwirigia said that she had not received any complaint about the matter.

“I will only respond to your question when I have its relevant answered,” she said in response.
