Nyamira: Unemployed teacher who is a Bodaboda rider stabbed to death

Unemployed primary School teacher who graduated six years has died after being stabbed by a friend.

The deceased David Odhiambo 44, is from Karota village, Nyamusi Division in Nyamira County.

Odhiambo is allegedly reported to have been stabbed by a friend known as Duncan Nyamanga after differing over an issue during a drinking spree in the village.

Nyamanga the suspected killer is said to have a past criminal record.

Odhiambo joined the Bodaboda transport business to fend for his family as the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) was taking long to employ him.

He was rushed to Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital where he succumbed.

“We do not know what happened but were called to take him to hospital after he was stabbed.

Upon reaching there we found him bleeding profusely and rushed him to the hospital.” Christine Odhiambo his wife said.

In retaliation, the residents of Karota village torched 8 houses belonging to the family of the illicit Chang’aa brewer.

“We have been arresting and handing the brewers to the police but they always buy their way out.

Today we decided to teach them a lesson.” A resident said

They blamed the police at Nyamusi station for covering up criminals in the area and appealed to the Minister for Interior Kithure Kintiki to intervene.

Nyamira North Sub-county Police Commander Elizabeth Wakuloba confirmed the death of the slain man.

“My office has a report about a man who was stabbed on Tuesday and died in hospital as he underwent treatment. We are investigating the incident.” She said.

The mother of the deceased and the entire family are calling for justice over the death of their Son.

The late Odhiambo is survived by a widow and one child

The body of the deceased is lying at Nyamira Teaching and referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
