Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has announced plans to expand the county’s scholarship programme, increasing the number of beneficiaries in secondary schools and extending support to learners in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutes.
Speaking at Uhuru Gardens in Nyamira town while hosting 2025 KCSE achievers under the county scholarship, Nyaribo said his administration has been sponsoring 200 students from poor families to pursue secondary education. This year, he revealed, the programme will be broadened to include an additional 600 learners joining TVET institutions.
The governor congratulated students who scored A plain and A minus grades, assuring them of continued support throughout their university education. He urged those interested in technical training to apply for admission, noting that successful applicants will qualify for scholarships.
