Keroka Law Courts has released a male nurse on bond worth Ksh100,000 after he pleaded not guilty for allegedly defiling a secondary school girl.

Henry Nyatang’o reportedly defiled the 15-year-old Form 2 student at St. Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls school.

Chief Magistrate Kimutai Matata heard that Nyatang’o was on duty the night when the girl checked in for treatment at St. Catherine Medical facility in the school.

He reportedly followed the minor to the latrines where he defiled her.

“He waylaid me as I returned to the ward and did the bad things before asking me to take a cold bath immediately,” she reported.

Keroka police arrested him and arraigned him in court where he was charged with two counts of defilement and committing an indecent act with the minor contrary to section 11(1) of the Sexual Offences Act.

He denied both charges and the case was adjourned for hearing on June 8, 2023.

Efforts by Education News to reach Ichuni Girls Principal Mrs. Ombongi for comment were futile as phone calls went unanswered by the time of publishing this story.
