Teachers have been warned against the habit of spoon-feeding learners and told to instead guide them to resolve academic issues themselves.
TVETA Chairman Dr Ahmed Ferej regretted that most of the teachers and instructors are obsessed with giving trainees everything on a silver platter.
He cautioned teachers and instructors against the practice and advised them to instead give the learners challenging work meant to develop their knowledge and skills.
“Teachers and instructors are obsessed with giving our trainees everything while giving them little opportunity to challenge themselves. It is a big problem in our institutions of learning all the way from the nursery to universities”, he said. – John Majau
