Migori County Commissioner, Mwangi Meru has warned that security officers have been deployed to deal with any eventuality that may arise within the county during the national exam period. The Commissioner also noted that there are no special cases of students sitting the papers from hospital either after delivery or due to sicknesses.
Mwangi while speaking during the opening of exam containers within the county commissioners’ headquarters, he noted that the exercise has begun smoothly and is optimistic that the exams will be conducted in a free and fair manner disowning the notion that the county is a hotspot for exam cheating.
A spot check by the Education News team confirmed that exam materials were safely distributed to and from exam centres in time and that the day one of the KCSE ended without any hitches across the county safe for the impersonation case at Kiamagundu Mixed Secondary School.
His sentiments were echoed by his Deputy, Benson Karani who said they have collaborated well with the examination officials in ensuring that all the logistics have been put in place to ensure exam papers reach various examination centers in time, promising to address challenges as they emerge.
