NGO bails out 48 needy students

A Community Based Organisation operating in Kilifi County has issued cheques for Sh2.1 million to assist 48 bright but needy students from poor families in the region to join Form One in various secondary schools across the county.
Speaking during a cheque presentation, Kesho Organisation Chief Executive Officer, Evans Odhiambo and founder Zainab Salim told the recipients to work hard in their studies.
“This is a rare opportunity and you need to work hard so that donors get encouraged to do more”, they said.
The beneficiaries are those who performed well in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and have been admitted to national schools.
