National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) will roll out e-Government Procurement System (e-GPS).

NG-CDF Board had already actively engaged both the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) and the National Treasury in the matter.

The board is expected to meet the National Treasury Principal Secretary to shed light on the same.

Chairperson of the Select Committee on NG-CDF Musa Sirma (Eldama Ravine) said the e Board is awaiting a high-level consultative meeting with the National Treasury to ensure that the unique requirements of the NG-CDF are adequately incorporated into the e-GPS framework. This includes tailoring specific modules to reflect constituency-based project implementation.

The Select Committee on NG-CDF oversights the NG-CDF Board, and took up the matter  in relation to the critical kitty, owing to the National Government directive earlier this year on e-GPS integration of all Government procurement processes.

“The NG-CDF Board is consulting with the National Treasury with a view to training and onboarding all the 290 constituencies onto the e-GPS platform. This phased approach will ensure effective adoption and seamless transition from manual to electronic procurement,” added Sirma.

The Government of Kenya, through the National Treasury had embarked on the full-scale implementation of the e-Government Procurement System (e-GPS), in alignment with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015 and its attendant Regulations, 2020.

This directive aims to enhance transparency, accountability, fairness, equity, equality, cost effectiveness and efficiency in public procurement processes across all levels of Government.
