NG-CDF purchases buses for three schools

Three secondary schools in Malava constituency have each received Shs 6.5 million buses purchased by the Malava Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Speaking at St Anthony Kakoyi secondary school during the handing over ceremony, Malava Member of Parliament (MP) Malulu Injendi said his priority as the area MP is to prioritize on the education sector hence he will continue supporting educational programmes.

Malulu warned parents against contributing towards school development, infrastructure and the purchase of school buses arguing that the CDF had enough funds to support all the schools in the constituency.

‘Principals should stop organizing for funds drive to raise money for school development, infrastructure and the purchase of buses. The CDF kitty has enough money to do all that,’ he said.

He said that the delay of the buses was caused by the outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic that crippled many operations in the country.

The MP said he was committed to ensure that bursary was allocated to all needy students.

Present during the handing over event was Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama and his Ikolomani counterpart Bernard Shinali.

 Wanyama urged the electorates to   reelect Malulu in the forthcoming elections so that he can him complete the educational rehabilitation programmes he initiated.

‘A good leader invests in the education of his/her people. Just like your MP, I have also prioritized on the education sector. My latest development is the reconstruction of Misimo primary school which had collapsed due to bad leadership. I issued out funds for the construction of six classrooms,’ Wanyama said.

Shinali also applauded the move and termed it as a challenge. He added that he will emulate what Malulu has done.

Linet Kidiga, the principal of St. Anthony Kakoyi thanked the MP for the bus and welcomed his move of adding the school another bus before the end of the year.

‘The bus will greatly serve us in educational exchange programmes and trips since our school is very populated owing to the fact that it’s the best school in the sub county. ,’ she said.

The principal promised that the school’s performance in the next national exams will be an improvement of their current performance.

She also expressed hope that the MP will address their challenges such as lack of land for expansion and few classrooms as long as they perform well.

 Bulupi secondary and St.Patricks Bukhakunga secondary schools also received buses.
