Khwisero Constituency has disbursed Shs.48 million as scholarships and bursaries for needy students.

Area MP Christopher Aseka said the Aseka Miradi Foundation had allocated Shs20 million as full scholarships for 800 students in various secondary schools.

He said the NG-CDF had separately disbursed another Shs. 2 million to Khwisero Training and Vocational College as fees for 200 learners.

“We have further paid fees totalling to Shs8 million for 1,000 beneficiaries in other tertiary institutions across the country,” he added.0

The legislator, who is the area NG-CDF Patron, said another Shs.18 million had been disbursed to several  secondary schools as bursaries for 5,000 students.

“The cheques have already landed in the respective institutions and we do not expect any learner from Khwisero to be sent back home for fees,” he added.

Aseka pointed out that they had settled on the beneficiaries after intense vetting to ensure they supported only deserving cases.

He said his main objective was to ensure all children from the constituency acquired education and eventually help end the cycles of poverty in their respective families.

The legislator also runs a successful school-feeding programme in all the public primary and Day secondary schools in the constituency.
