Elsewhere, KNUT Nakuru Executive Secretary Anthony Gioche urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to reconsider expanding the list of designated hardship areas within Nakuru County.

He mentioned Mbogo-ini Zone in Subukia Sub-county, Lower Solai and Makongeni Zone in Rongai Sub-county, and Upper Solai Zone in Nakuru North Sub-county as some of the areas that should be considered for hardship allowance.

“We were shocked to learn of the government’s plan to do away with hardship allowances in the mentioned areas, this is the most absurd policy to have ever been formulated,” said Gioche.
