The New ECDE Centre

A new Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) center has been launched in Sosian by collaborative effort between the County Government of Laikipia and the Laikipia Nature Conservancy.

This state-of-the-art ECDE center, graced by Ag. CECM Education, Mr. Stephen Kisorio, and supported by Hon. Lekopien Parletto, the area MCA, now welcomes young learners from PP1 and PP2.

The facility offers two spacious classrooms and a rainwater harvesting tank ensuring a clean water supply for over 100 children.

Mr. Kisorio, in his address, urged parents to seize this valuable opportunity and enroll their four-year-olds, promising further enhancements through vocational training centers.

The Chief Officer of Education Mr. Gichuki further emphasized its necessity for the children’s education, while Mr. Njuki Mahiga, Chief Officer of Tourism, applauded the conservancy for contributing to the community’s welfare.

The Director of the Gallman Memorial Foundation Sveva Gallmann, and Hon. Lekopien Parletto echoed the importance of peace and education in the area, underscoring the positive outcomes achieved through such partnerships.
