15 candidates from Nanyuki Boys High School in Laikipia County have scored straight grade As in the recently released 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results.

The outstanding performance is a major improvement compared to last year where only 4 students managed the feat.

According to Chief Principal Solomon Kipkoech, an astounding 286 students achieved a C+ (plus) and above, securing direct entry into universities.

“We have witnessed a positive trajectory in all aspects of our school, and we are excelling in academics. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication from our students and the support we receive from our staff and parents,” he said.

He added that this year’s results marked a significant improvement the 2022 KCSE results.

“Additionally, the mean score improved from 8.890 in the previous year to 8.897 this year,” he said.

Kipkoech added that the school’s consistent excellent performance has made it one of the most sought-after national schools for students seeking admission to Form 1.

“Nanyuki Boys was the second most preferred school in the country this year, following Kabianga High. We had approximately 158,000 candidates selecting our school. However, due to our limited capacity of 500 students, we were unable to accommodate all of them,” he said.
