Nandi’s Chesumei Subcounty sends 700 students to university

More than seven hundred 2020 KCSE candidates from Chesumei, a sub county in Nandi will be joining various public universities across the nation after attaining the university cut- off marks.

“The Sub County recorded good results in last year’s KCSE and has over 700 candidates joining universities,” says Chesumei Sub County Director of Education Mr David Mwandihi.

He said the sub county emerged top in the entire county of Nandi in both KCPE and KCSE results and thus have a purpose to smile. He lauded the efforts of all the education stakeholders in the region for their tireless support.

The Director also lauded the area Member of Parliament Hon. Wilson Kogo for his immense support in the education sector, saying he has been instrumental in championing matters education in the region which has enabled the Sub County to remain on top always.

“We have received immense support from the area MP who is very keen in taking the lead in education and on performance,” Mwandihi noted.

He acknowledged that the Sub County recorded a good mean grade and will be holding a stakeholder’s meeting at Chemundu secondary school to discuss how to remain on top and the challenges facing the education sector in secondary schools.
