It is now official that Dr Nancy Njeri Macharia has hung her boots from the Upper Hill red-carpeted office today.
Her exit marks the end of her 10 years at the helm of the leading employer in East and Central Africa (TSC). The CEO is proceeding to terminal leave, after which she will hand offer the office to the next CEO, who will be recruited from the ongoing process, which is at the application stage right now.
Speaking at a low-key exit ceremony attended by KNUT top brass, Dr Macharia thanked all the stakeholders for their time together in the commission.
She said she laid a solid foundation upon which her successor will comfortably begin. The outgoing CEO further revealed that the seat wasn’t always cozy, as she had stressful times that called for heightened sobriety.

“We expect nothing short of a teacher, one of us, to take over the office. We don’t expect a politician or any other professional,” a serious Lang’at said.
His sentiments warn the recruitment panel not to think of forwarding to the president the name of former Knut secretary general, Wilson Session, or any other teacher who joined politics.
In related news, Education News has learnt that postings of recently promoted administrators have begun in some counties across the country.
Field officers have been instructed to declare schools lacking administrators and urgently forward them to the county Directors’ offices. This will be a big relief to schools that have operated without substantive administrators for quite some time.
The National Assembly had questioned the credibility of the teachers’ promotions undertaken in January.
