Nakuru parents urged to take care of their children during school half-term break

Parents from Rongai, Nakuru County have been urged to take good care of their children and give them moral guidance during this half-term break.

Speaking during Thanks Giving day in Kirobon Girls High School, Rongai Sub County Director of Education William Kipchumba said parents have a vital role in shaping the behaviours and characters of their children.

“Parents should know it is their responsibility to mould and steer all children in the right directions, through teaching them the reality about what good characters entails for their future. Children need to be directed, positively adviced to enable them improve their education standards of education, shape skills and maintain good characters,” said the Director.

He added that school children are like precious stones,  which if well taken care of, can be more valuable in the future.

Kipchumba also called upon parents to accord both boys and girls equal attention to ensure that all of them grow as responsible citizens.

The Director also encouraged students to respect their parents and listen to their advice so that they can grow wise and knowledgeable to uplift the society.

“I want urge children to regularly take advice from their parents; and do what is right as through it, you will succeed both academically and in character,” he said.

Head of Education Institutions were also urged to work closely with all stakeholders in order to improve the standards of education in their respective schools.

The Director said every stakeholder have a role to play in the academic improvement of any school, students character generation and general improvement of the school discipline.

“For school to improve, the School Principal must perform their roles, as the Board of Managements parents, students and teachers also do their part for the production of good results.” He advised.

“We should be aware that through cooperation and working as a team, we will improve the education standards of our institution and every person have a part to play for us to celebrate the success of our children,” said Kipchumba.

The Director was accompanied by Rongai Sub County Quality Assurance and standard officers among other guests.
