Nakuru Education Director confirms smooth running of KCSE exams

Nakuru County’s ongoing KCSE examinations are progressing smoothly, with 42,016 candidates sitting for the tests across 417 examination centres, County Director of Education Victoria Mulili has confirmed.

Out of these, 37,103 candidates are from public schools, comprising 18,205 boys and 18,838 girls, while 4,646 candidates are from private schools, including 2,088 boys and 2,561 girls.

Additionally, the county has 33 special needs candidates (17 boys and 15 girls) and 234 private candidates (130 males and 104 females).

Speaking on the smooth conduct of the examinations, Mulili praised Centre Managers in both public and private schools for adhering to Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and Ministry of Education schedules.

“We thank our Centre Managers in Public Schools and Private Schools for performing their duties well, they have been picking Examination Papers on time and distributing them to Examination Centres for the candidates to seat for the Exams,” she said.

Mulili also acknowledged the contributions of all 11 Sub-county Directors of Education and other education officers, who are monitoring the examination centres daily, ensuring the smooth running of the process.

She further thanked officials from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Nakuru County and TSC headquarters for their continued oversight.

The Director highlighted that 15 containers with examination materials have been distributed across all 11 sub-counties of Nakuru, which include Kuresoi North, Kuresoi South, Naivasha, Subukia, Gilgil, Rongai, Molo, Nakuru North, Nakuru East, Nakuru West, and Njoro.

Mulili urged Centre Managers to continue maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism while supervising candidates. She emphasized that the Ministry of Education, KNEC, and TSC will continue monitoring the KCSE examinations to ensure the process remains smooth and transparent.
