Nakuru ECDE centres get chairs and tables

A total of 15 schools in Bahati Sub-County in Nakuru have received furniture in phase two distribution of learning material to Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centres.       

Schools drawn from Dundori, Kiamaina, Kabatini, Umoja /Lanet and Bahati wards received  a total of 400 chairs and 60 tables during the event.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education Francis Mwangi said they will ensure that ECDE learning is conducted smoothly and in a condusive environment.        

Mwangi said highly populated schools will be given priority during the distribution process to benefit more ECDE Centres in the county.              

“So far Bahati Sub County has received 800 chairs and over 200 tables since the government rolled out the initiative,” he said.       

He further said that the Ministry of Education will make sure all ECDE centre across the county are registered in line with the pre Primary Policy and Early Childhood Education Act 2021.                  

ECDE Director Millicent Yugi hailed the county government for taking education issues seriously  and urged teachers to take good care of the furniture to avoid breakages.
