Nakuru County hires 305 ECDE teachers on permanent terms

Outgoing Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui’s administration has employed over 305 ECDE teachers under permanent and pensionable terms.

Speaking while presiding over the issuance of employment letters to the newly employed ECDE teachers at Nakuru county headquarters, Kinyanjui said the teachers will be deployed in all ECDE teachers in the 11 sub counties of the county.

“We targeted to at least deploy two ECDE teachers in every public primary school. The teachers will be remunerated well and they will do their work efficiently,” he said.

He advised the teachers to ensure they do their professionally.

At the beginning of the year, the administration employed 372 teachers and deployed them to the 11 sub counties.

He highlighted his achievements in the education sector adding that his government had constructed 305 ECDE classrooms and renovated old classes.

“We have also furnished 708 classes and bought over 17,000 chairs and 2,833 tables to assist learners and teachers during the learning period,” he said.

Kinyanjui added that his government also introduced feeding programs which increased the enrolment of learners in all sub counties.
