Nakuru County has heightened security as national examinations begin across the country, with officials assuring smooth and credible administration of the tests.
County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara said adequate measures have been put in place, including standby vehicles and coordinated teams, to ensure the safe and timely delivery of examination materials to all centres.
“We are fully prepared,” said Kibaara. “The government has mobilized adequate resources to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged due to logistical challenges.”
Speaking in Nakuru Town, he urged parents to support their children during this critical period by providing a conducive environment for study and rest.
“This is a crucial time for our children. I urge all parents to offer support and give them the peace they need to focus on their exams,” he added.

Kibaara also reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining the credibility of the exams, warning that any form of malpractice will be met with stern consequences.
“We will not tolerate any attempts to compromise the integrity of the exams,” he stated. “Those found engaging in exam irregularities will face the full force of the law.”
On a separate note, the Commissioner cautioned against the rising cases of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) during the festive season. He said the government is on high alert to prevent the practice, which has been linked to collusion by some medical and security officers.
“FGM is illegal, and we will not allow it to happen, especially during the December holidays when such cases tend to rise,” warned Kibaara. “Anyone involved, including those aiding the act, will be prosecuted.”
Meanwhile, Rongai Member of Parliament Paul Chebor welcomed the planned construction of the Rironi–Mau Summit Dual Carriageway, terming it a game-changer for the region.
“This project will greatly boost transport activities and open up economic opportunities for the people of Rongai and the wider Nakuru County,” said Chebor. “We fully support this development.”
