With a Population of 53 students Mwea mixed day secondary school is geared towards actualizing its visions.
Speaking at his office school principal Evans Kamau noted that the school has in the past taken students to university but along the line it was affected by transfers to the newly opened schools around and drug misuse among students
He noted that as staff they have strategized on better performance thus coming up with useful ways which are bearing fruits starting with internal exams..
Kamau also pointed out that they will increase the number of exams to instill a reading culture among students.
“One we agreed with the parents and teachers that retaining the students in class on Saturday will make them revise thoroughly thus restraining them from joining the bad company and lazing around,” Kamau said.

He lamented that a bigger percent of parents are not supportive to their children but they keep on enlightening them on importance of educating them.
However, the principal raised concern on the shortage of teachers in the institution prompting the few to be overloaded with lessons.
In co-curricular activities, Kamau the principal said the school participated in sports steeplechase girls last term. In racket games they reached regional level.
He encouraged parents, teachers and students that if they are positive about the interventions put in place, they will go far.
“We have to actualize our vision and I am sure we are getting there,” Kamau said.
He added that they are okay in terms of facilities thus well equipped.
