Musingu High School has introduced technical subjects in its curriculum in preparation for Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) students currently in Junior Secondary School (JSS).
Chief Principal Bernard Lukuya disclosed that they now offer Aviation, Power mechanics, Woodwork and more foreign languages.
Lukuya was speaking during the orientation exercise for Form 1 students and their parents, where he revealed that out of 484 candidates, the school sent 238 of them to the university.
The extra county school, located in Kakamega sub-county, recorded a mean score of 6.5 which translated to a positive deviation of 0.3.
He said that the performance had led to increased student enrollment currently standing at more than 2,481 students.
Lukuya added that the school intends to also remain a powerhouse in sports, highlighting that they emerged first runners-up in Football and they are the national defending champions in Hockey, in which they represented the country in Rwanda during last year’s Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSA) tournament.
